Useful Information 


Here you will find information that is useful to you for your time with SADSC. 

Equipment You will need during you time at SADSC 

There are certain pieces of equipment that your child will be required to bring with them to each swim session.

Required Items provided by member

 

  • Training Fins - A short training fin similar to the Arena Powerfin Pro
  • Water bottle - Plastic bottle only please
  • Goggles - suitable for swimming training. No beach style masks.
  • Swim Costume - Please make sure these are suitable for vigorous swimming training. No Bikinis or Board shorts.
  • Kick Board - Approx. 38cm x 28cm with hand holes
  • Swim Caps*  - Preferably with an SADSC Logo :)
  • Pool Side Bag* - A Mesh bag is preferred

  • What are your opening hours?

    Our sessions currently run on Mondays. The first session is 6pm to 7pm, the second session 6:45pm to 8pm and the 3rd session is 7:45pm to 9pm


    We only close for Christmas, Easter and any bank holiday Monday. We are fully open through half terms and the school summer holidays.

  • How much does it cost?

    We split the payments into 12 monthly amounts of £25.00, payable by credit or debit card on a recurring payment basis.

    If you are a new member then your first payment will be £25.00 plus Swim Englands Membership Fee, which is currently £18.00.

    Note, the £18.00 is a one off fee payable when you join the club. From then on you will only pay the standard monthly fee.

  • How do I pay?

    Your first payment must be via Credit or Debit Card. The ongoing substription payments can then by via stored card details or direct debit.  You will be sent an email with links to pay and set this up.


    NOTE; the payment set up process is two stage and BOTH stages must be complete for your membership to be active on our Swim Management software. 

  • What if I join mid way through a month?

    Our Swim Management software, Soakly, will pro- rata the first months payment up to the first full payment, which is the 9th of every month.

  • What do you offer?

    We offer the following;

    • Swim England Learn to Swim stages 7 to 10
    • Swim England Club stages 1 to 6
    • Challenge Awards
    • Distance Swims
    • Speed Awards

    The clubs levels come after the learn to swim stages and allow for your child to further progress with their swimming skills.


    All sessions start and end with land training

  • What is Land Training?

    The club has 15 minutes reserved before getting into the pool for land training. These are a series of poolside excercises following a Swim England programme.

  • Are you a competition club?

    No. We don't currently compete in external competitions. We do have an in house gala once a year and various in club related activities encouraging light hearted competition.

  • How do I join?

    Contact registrations@sadsc.co.uk and we would be only too happy for you to come along and see what we are about. Or click the button at the bottom of this page to book a taster slot. 

    • We will conduct a short assessment on your childs swimming ability, and then allocate you an appropriate lane, assuming there are spaces available - please note: there may be a waiting list for the stage that your child has been assessed at.
    • We then email you an electronic membership form for you to sign and then you are in!
  • Is there Learn to Swim for younger children?

    We only offer Stage 7 and above. You would need to seek alternative lessons until your child reaches this stage and then we will welcome them with open arms.

  • When is your AGM?

    The AGM is held annually on the second Thursday in June. We would encourage every member to attend to ensure their envolvement in the club.

  • How do I join the committee?

    If you wish to be part of our committee and help shape the club then please email secretary@sadsc.co.uk to offer your support

  • Can I volunteer as a coach even if I don't have experience or qualifications?

    Absolutely ! All you need is a healthy dose of enthusiasm and we can help with the rest. Drop us an email at registrations@sadsc.co.uk or just talk to us at the pool.

  • Who runs the club?

    The club is completely run by volunteers. You can read the club constitution that is on our Policies page of the website.


    All volunteers give up a portion of their busy lives to give a little something back to the community - so the more help we get the better for us all!

  • What is your house system?

    SADSC runs a system that splits the members into three houses for a competition that runs throughout the year. Points are awarded for items, such as awards, attendance, and even club volunteers
